Why Lease?

Owning a horse is a huge commitment of time and money. Leasing allows you to test the waters before jumping in. Leasing is also a good way for parents to make sure their child is committed to horseback riding and in some cases horse ownership.

It's crucial for us to match students with the right horses and horses with the right riders. We also look for riders with training and experience that are appropriate for the horse. This is why we require a trial ride before you may lease one of our horses. Lessees must be able to handle a horse, groom, and saddle a horse independently. Parents who lease a horse for their child should also be active participants in helping their child learn and must be able to stay with their child at the barn while their child is there.

All supplies for the care of the horse will be provided by RubyFire Equestrian Center, such as shampoo, brushes, hoof picks, halters, turnout blankets, etc. Lessees are responsible for the maintenance of all tack. Oil, sponges, and conditioner will be supplied. Every horse comes with their own halter and bridle. RubyFire also provides a few showing opportunities for students interested in showing. We trailer our horses to many local shows.
